As Easy Comm, a Romanian company in partnership with Planet Telecom’s CEO Dave Veilleux, poises itself to conquer a bigger share of the highly competitive telecommunications market, it is finding our Canadian know-how to be invaluable.
Founded in 2002, Easy Comm’s focus has been in corporate long distance accounts and calling cards.
“Having access to Planet Telecom’s nine years of experience in Canadian telecom technology has been invaluable,” CEO Alex Popescu said. “That reliability and expertise backing up our knowledge of the local market enabled us to place second in the field upon Romanian deregulation of the industry in 2003.”
Maintaining that boom in business was CEO Dave’s purpose in his recent trip from Alberta to Bucharest and environs. Meeting with Romanian shareholders and managers over two weeks, Dave believes Easy Comm will meet the challenge of retaining their hold in this highly competitive field.
“We’re in the final stages of testing SIP deployment and a new soft switching system which will allow us to offer many more options such as wireless SIP phones, IP Centrex, voicemail and number portability,” Alex said. (The network currently includes POPs in New York, Frankfurt, Edmonton and Vancouver with Planet Telecom.)
A marketing coup was recently celebrated by Easy Comm; Western Union will present free calling cards to their customers based on the volume of the transaction. Director of Marketing, Planet Telecom, Sandra McNally also met with our Romanian colleagues. On her return to western Canada, she said she was enthused and motivated by their assertive selling, especially, of long distance telephone plans to business.
